More than six million people in the UK work in isolation or without the safety net provided by direct supervision, often in places or circumstances that put them at potential risk. Yet despite this, many organisations fail to have a lone worker protection policy in place, and this can result in major cost implications if an incident occurs.
Employers have a legal and moral duty of care to protect staff from unnecessary risk whilst they are carrying out their duties. They need to be provided with the right level of protection so that risks can be managed and controlled.
