Fundraising cyclists sponsored by LONEALERT raise more than £62k for charity

A team of fundraisers sponsored by LONEALERT completed an epic 145-mile bike ride, raising tens of thousands of pounds for Prostate Cancer UK.

The team of riders from LONEALERT's customer, Mi-Space, took on the Football to Amsterdam challenge for the second year in a row to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

They set themselves a fundraising target of £50,000 but have completely smashed that figure, with their current total standing at a staggering £62,578 - the highest amount raised by any team in the race.

Mi-space’s Michael Green was named the top individual fundraiser, pulling in more than £9,300 in donations, whilst Dean Richards came third. Both got to wear special orange jerseys for the race to honour their incredible fundraising efforts.

LONEALERT was an official sponsor of the Mi-space team and also donated three SOS fobs to three of its riders - AJ Eaton, Matt Howells and Sam Heritage - to allow people to follow their journey on the ride.

Mat Colley, LONEALERT’s Sales & Marketing Manager, said:

“We were delighted to support our valued customer, Mi-space, with this challenge to help raise money for such a wonderful cause.
It is an incredible achievement for every one of the team to complete the race and raise such a phenomenal amount of money to help beat this disease.”

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men and it kills one man in the UK every 45 minutes.

A Mi-space spokesman said:

“We made it! It was an incredible journey. There was a lot of tired legs but an overwhelming sense of achievement.

Thank you to all of our fantastic sponsors.”
