Allow your lone working staff to work smarter

Allow your lone working staff to work smarter

The comprehensive nature of LONEALERT’s lone working system - combining 1) Extensive choice of devices 2) The O.W.L and 3) A range of responses - is why it is redefining the standards of lone working protection, and leading the way in this ever-evolving industry.

However, despite such a system being available to simply and effectively manage and protect lone workers, it is unfortunately still the case that some companies have yet to implement adequate lone worker policies and procedures that help to protect their lone workers.

LONEALERT O.W.L - See it in action at the Health & Safety Event, NEC April 9th to 11th, Stand N30!

The news is sadly littered with tragic cases of workers who have been killed or injured on duty whilst working alone and of organisations fined thousands of pounds for failing in their Duty of Care to staff.

This national coverage can sometimes showcase lone working in a negative light. But employing lone workers can often be the most efficient way for companies to operate.

Effective lone worker protection systems ensure companies can make the best use of personnel resources by giving employers the confidence to send one worker to a job, safely, instead of wasting personnel by sending two. By enabling staff to work alone safely, workers can then in turn get more jobs/work completed whilst having the ability to remain in the workplace out of hours or on a flexible working pattern. Meanwhile, giving employers the ability to gather the location of all staff instantly means they are then able to send the person closest to an urgent job immediately.

Practical benefits aside, introducing effective lone working systems boosts morale among staff, making them aware that they are trusted enough to work alone, and valued enough for investments to be made into their safety. It also goes some way to appealing to new clients by reassuring them that there are safe methods of work in place for their staff when on client premises, whilst highlighting their integrity for doing all they can to protect their staff.

Having lone worker protection is vital. It is there to protect workers and to protect businesses. It is a sign that employers take their responsibilities of Duty of Care to their staff extremely seriously whilst reassuring workers and their families that should an incident occur, an alarm will be raised and help sent.

Lone working solutions are continuing to evolve and grow as more and more people face up to this fact - with the launch of The O.W.L marking an important new milestone in this evolution, and the future of lone worker protection.

We’re delighted to be exhibiting again at the Health and Safety Event on Stand N30 from April 9th to April 11th at the NEC, Birmingham.
